The recent haze is causing my eczema to flare up. I was really glad and excited when Japalang sent me the Kuu Konjac Sponge (Natural French Red Clay) to try. Yes, the sponge is made from 100% food grade Konjac powder with pure water. They are very soft and contain no chemicals & preservatives, nor any colorings or additives. This makes it suitable for all skin types, even for people who suffer from eczema :)

Konjac Sponge is a 100% natural sponge that gently cleanses and soothes the skin by removing dirt and oil and naturally restores the pH level of the skin. The cleansing process helps to stimulate blood flow and encourage new skin cells growth, effectively revitalizing the complexion without damaging the delicate skin.
100% hand-made, KUU Konjac sponges are not only bio-degradable, but also highly sustainable. It can be used on its own for the same number of benefits, or together with a significantly lesser amount of cleanser due to sponge’s unique ability to produce more foam.
Directions For Use:
- Rinse before use and then gently massage until the sponge has absorbed the water.
- Use the sponge in circular motions, it can be used alone as it is naturally 8.4 pH balanced or with a small amount of cleanser if you wish.
- Rinse sponge after use (do not wring) and hang to dry.
- The sponge will harden when dry. Re-hydrate in warm water before use again.
- The average lifespan of a sponge is 3 months if cared for correctly. Once the sponge starts breaking down, you can plant it under a potted plant. It would help retain water and naturally biodegrade over time. Wonderful isn't it <3
I can’t sing enough praises of this little sponge. The KUU Konjac Sponge is not abrasive at all. In fact, it is so soft and gentle, which feels really lovely on the skin. I’m able to use this daily without worrying about over-scrubbing my skin. I wouldn't think something so gentle would do such a great job in cleansing the skin. It’s not drying on the skin, and doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight and dry after cleansing. It can be used on its own or with your cleanser. But remember just a tiny amount goes a long way as the sponge is able to produce more foam than usual. Personally, I prefer to use it without any cleanser on it, cause the sponge can be difficult to clean when it absorbs the cleanser.
KUU Konjac sponges come in a few types: Pure (suitable for all skin types), French Red Clay (suitable for dry, sensitive and mature skin types), French Green Clay (suitable for oily or combination skin types), Bamboo Charcoal (Suitable for problematic & acne prone skin type) and Baby Sponge(suitable for infants).
KUU Konjac is exclusively available in BHG stores and www.beautycarousel.com officially from May 2013.
